Thank you for joining us at a live performance by Lompoc Civic Theatre! We're thrilled to present No Wake by Erica Berman. I discovered this play by chance when I was visiting friends in Door County, Wisconsin, in July of 2024. They live in Sturgeon Bay near Third Avenue Playworks, a professional theater that included No Wake as part of its season. As soon as I found the script, I immediately connected with the characters of Peter and Sarah and I knew it would be perfect for LCT. I grew up in rural Maine and I'm very familiar with the culture of summer cabins on a lake in New England. The photo on the program cover is a picture of my brother Dennis's cabin. I'd like to thank our wonderful Production Team who have helped pull this show together, especially Anne Ramsey and Dan Manko who designed and built the set and provided much more support behind the scenes. And thanks to William Koseluk for all the support on the home front during this adventure! The show wouldn't have happened without their invaluable contributions!
We're extremely grateful to the Lompoc Museum and its Director Lisa Renken for letting us rehearse in Stone Pine Hall and actually present the show in this unique intimate space for two weekends. We'd also like to thank The Mission Club and Tabatha Hudson for giving us the opportunity to present No Wake as a dinner theater production. And a special thanks to YOU for joining us as we celebrate Keeping theater LIVE in Lompoc since 1973! We encourage anyone interested to join us and help create the magic of live theater.
And finally, many thanks to Erica Berman for writing this beautiful play!

Lainey Ranjo (Sarah) Lainey is a Lompoc High School and California Lutheran University graduate. The performing arts have always been a huge part of Lainey's heart. It all started at the age of 3 when she began dancing. Dancing quickly led Lainey to acting and singing, where she has appeared in many roles with LHS drama including Roxie Hart in Chicago, Gertrude in Seussical, and Annie in Annie. Lainey thanks her family and friends for their endless love and support in her life. "You guys ROCK!"
Craig Scott (Peter) is excited to be back with LCT in this terrific play presenting conflict and resolution between generations. Audiences may remeber Craig in California Suite, Bloomsday, The Winners, A Dog's Life, and his portrayal of Norman Thayer, Jr. in On Golden Pond for which he was highly praised in The Sun. Craig owes so much to his partners in life, Rachel and Riley, who as always are the reason he smiles so much. Craig thanks you for coming – enjoy this story about loons, lakes and learning.
Larry McLellan (Director/Co-Producer) is grateful to be working with the wonderful cast and crew of No Wake. His previous directing credits include Red; Bloomsday; Good People; Glorious; Two Point Oh; Indoor/Outdoor; Clutter; and Almost, Maine. He has appeared onstage in The Boys Next Door and Audition for Murder and has worn many other hats for LCT. Larry is extremely grateful to everyone who comes to our shows and supports community theater.
Anastasia Helfinstein (Stage Manager) is so excited to be helping with her first show at LCT! Previously she has held a variety of different positions with companies in the SF Bay Area, including Technical Director, stage manager, and performing onstage. She also helped restart the musical theatre club at UCSB (Shrunken Heads), and produced their first performance, Legally Blonde.
Dan Manko (Set Construction). He likes to build stuff.
Anne Ramsey (Set Design/Co-Producer) has been a member wof the Lompoc Civic Theatre company for over 10 years, debuting in Nunsense, and performing in numerous plays through the years. Most recently she perforned the lead role of Olympe de Gouges in The Revolutionists in 2023. Anne is also an artist and has designed and decorated many of the stage sets over the years, working closely with the dedicated team of "Techies" to create the magical environments for the plays. She is pleased to be working once again with legendary set builder Dan Manko, and a terrific team on No Wake. Anne has worked in the theater since she was 8 years old, and Theatre runs in her veins! Whether she is on stage or behind the scenes she is always proud and grateful for the opportunity to be working with so many gifted individuals. Special thanks to Larry McLellan for including her in this magical and touching trip to Lake Winnipesaukee.
Robbie Theis (Lights & Sound) started his theater career in the LHS little theater, spending countless hours mostly onstage (alongside Lainey!) but also dabbling in sound design. Through playing bass with his band Robbie fostered. passion for music that led him to pursue audio engineering training at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Phoenix, Arizona. When not running sound for concerts, festivals, and corporate events Robbie can be found jamming with his band, Serendipity, or practicing martial arts with the Central Coast TngSooDo school. He is happy to continue contributing to the arts in Lompoc with the Civic Theatre troupe!
