Lompoc Civic Theatre presents... A New Play. Aloha Beach by Gary James. A free reading will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, 2:00pm at Stone PineHall, 210 South H Street. Aloha Beach was an actual planned resort community, in 1927, surrounding the Surf train depot. Lompoc native Gary James has written this lighthearted work of historical fiction centered around a lower Lompoc Valley farm family, the Fowlers, and their concern over this far-fetched resort plan and its likely impact on water available to local farmers. Attendees are invited to remain after the reading for an open discussion with the Playwright.
